Stephen Buccellato is a currently in his fifth year of the Architectural Engineering program at The Pennsylvania State University. In May of 2016, Stephen will be graduating with an Integrated Bachelor and Master of Architectural Engineering degree with a focus in mechanical engineering. He will also be graduating with two Minors of Business and Architectural Studies. He has passed the Fundamental Engineering Exam and is well on his way to striving to become the Professional Engineer he has dreamed of. Stephen is a member of professional and student organizations that include Student Society of Architectural Engineering (SSAE), Student Chapter of ASHRAE, and the Student Chapter of MCCA. He held the positions of Second Year THON Chair as well as President for SSAE and even placed 3rd in the 2015 ASHRAE Student Competition.

 

During Stephen’s first two summers, he spent time working multiple jobs and taking summer courses. For his third summer, Stephen studied abroad in Italy, which allowed him to not only travel but to gain a valuable lesson in cultural awareness. This past summer, Stephen had accepted an internship to work SmithGroup JJR in Detroit, Michigan as a Mechanical Engineer. This was Stephen’s first experience with an internship that not only allowed him to gain vast knowledge in the field but relationships that will last a life-time.

 

Outside of academics, Stephen has various hobbies and jobs. Stephen worked two jobs while at school: one as a teaching assistant/grader and the other as a shift leader at Jersey Mike’s Subs. Along with working Stephen finds time to fit his favorite activity, working out, into his busy schedule. Stephen is also a passionate music lover. After studies for the day, you can find Stephen either posted up playing video games or a rousing game of corn hole with his roommates.
